‘Collaborate for impact’

On Thursday, 28th March 2024, the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) hosts the Cohort Symposium ‘Collaborate for Impact.’ The symposium focuses on the impact of cohorts and biobanks on patients and society and on how we can enhance this impact through collaboration.

PROGRAMME. The cohort symposium will start with a lunch at the Fonteinpatio in the UMCG. After this, the official programme is opened by prof.dr. Wiro Niessen (dean) followed by two keynote speakers.

KEYNOTES: 

  • Dr. Frederike Jörg (Director Rob Giel Onderzoekcentrum and Associate professor at University Center Psychiatry) – Regional impact through Mindlines
  • Prof. Dr. Lude Franke (Professor of Functional Genomics) – Cohort impact on policy

After the plenary part, there will be two rounds of parallel break-out sessions on cohort use cases, knowledge sessions, focus on collaboration (regional or public/private) or interactive sessions.

COHORT POSTER SESSION: The programme contains a dedicated poster session in the Fonteinpatio where UMCG cohorts and biobanks can present themselves and their impact. You can use the registration form to sign up for the poster presentations.

WHO IS THE SYMPOSIUM FOR? We invite all UMCG researchers to join. Find out what samples and data are available for your research and learn from your peers on how to build and create impact with a cohort through collaboration.
