Come to our public festival and learn and move along!

We like to celebrate 40 years of Human Movement Sciences with residents of the city and surrounding area. Will you celebrate with us? Our goal? To inspire everyone, from young to old, about Human Movement Sciences and to motivate them to start moving themselves.

What is there to do?

During the public festival in the Forum on October 11, 2024 you will learn everything about Exercise Science research during smart labs, a showcase and public academy lectures.

Smartlabs

An entire square with all kinds of research settings is being created in the atrium of the Forum. These smart labs show the breadth of research done at Human Movement Sciences. For example, come and test how handy you are with a prosthetic hand, try wearables from the FitTech box such as ‘smartwatches’, and experience the effect of unhealthy lifestyle habits on your health.

Public Academy

In addition to the smart labs, there will be a continuous program that afternoon with public lectures on topics including cycling, skating and technology in the Rabozaal of the Forum. Names like Mathieu Heijboer, Jeroen Otter and Erik Scherder are on the program!

Photo exhibition

An ongoing photo exhibition ‘Timeless Movement’ by Bert Otten shows that exercise is not only healthy and fun, but can also be a form of art.
