Meet&Greet: Start-up Edition

On 3 October, the Groningen Graduate Schools will organize the Meet & Greet on Tour start-up edition and visit five promising Groningen (academic) start-up companies; QDI, Sencilia, Portal Biotech, Gecco Biotech, and HQ Graphene. The tour is aimed at UG and UMCG PhD students who are interested in the possibilities of converting their research into a product or service, and offers a unique insight into the way the five Groningen start-ups operate.

The day will kick off at Zernike Campus where Maarten van Roosmalen of Business Generator Groningen—part of the UG’s Research & Impact Cluster—will talk about the possibilities and the dos and don’ts for bringing your research to market and society, followed by a pitch held by QDI Systems.

After a short break, the companies Sencilia, Portal Biotech, Gecco Biotech, and finally HQ Graphene will be visited. In between, there is an option to partake in a joint lunch.

• 3–3.20 p.m. Bike ride to HQ Graphene
• 3.20–4.20 p.m. Company visit #4: HQ Graphene
