HTRIC on Tour is a special series in which HTRIC transforms into a place to be inspired, meet, and connect. Each tour event has a different theme: innovation, education, research etc. You’ll be pleasantly surprised with interesting topics and a different perspective on the health technology ecosystem in the Northern Netherlands.
Research is critical to improving patient outcomes and the quality of healthcare. It helps us to understand what works, what doesn’t work, and why. In other words: research is essential when working towards more healthy years of life. On the 3rd of July, HTRIC will host its third On-Tour event all about research.
During this Wednesday afternoon, you will learn how HTRIC can help you with your research and dive into a topic in one of our breakouts to learn more about a specific step. You will explore the key features and benefits of HTRIC, and choose a break-out session that aligns with your interests. The break-out sessions will provide detailed insights, practical examples, and interactive discussions.
But there is more! At the start, we would like to know what you need (what kind of research you would like to do, what you need to make it happen e.g. partner researcher, company, money, insights in MDR or something else). After the breakouts, we will give you a little tour around the Wiebenga complex showcasing its facilities and various research centres. During the drinks, we will discuss the needs you indicated at the start and help you take the next step(s) towards the answer to your question.

Which breakout would you like to follow?
Breakout 1: Lifelines in your Research
In this session, you will meet the people within Lifelines, a large, multigenerational, prospective cohort study involving more than 167,000 participants (10%) from the limited population of the Netherlands. Due to its length, scope, and depth of research, Lifelines offers many excellent opportunities for researchers to unravel the aetiology of multifactorial diseases, emphasizing multifactorial risk factors. Both the scientific community and companies are invited to this session. Lifelines will showcase how they can support your research by providing an overview of their extensive database, research tools, and collaborative opportunities
Breakout 2: How to get your research funded?
Within this session, you will learn tips and tricks for preparing and submitting your research for a grant application. Marleen Kamperman has a successful track record of admitting grant proposals and will share her secret to success as a researcher. There will also be a professional to help answer your questions and the first steps in your application.
Breakout 3: Serious Game – Medical Device Regulation
During this session, you will play a serious game to learn more about medical device regulation. You will discover legal aspects and tools to consider if you are planning to put a medical device on the market or if you want to know more about this step for your research.
