After completing my bachelor’s in Medical Physics, I went on to do a master’s in Biomedical Engineering, focusing on Medical Device Design. In October 2024, I will start my PhD project with HTRIC, where we aim to develop a hydrogel-based, multi-responsive miniaturized robot to replace current stent graft materials for aneurysm treatment. The robot will feature magnetic movement, MRI visibility, and ultrasound-controlled payload release. It will be injected, guided to the target site, and controlled using non-invasive external triggers, enabling real-time adjustments during treatment. This research will open new possibilities for minimally invasive procedures.
This project is applied by: prof. dr. Sarthak Misra, dr. Michael Lerch en prof. dr. Jean Paul de Vries. Start PhD: October 2024.
